NavNGo tutvustab CeBIT messil uut tarkvara iGO Primo. Uudist saab lugeda CeBIT: Nav N Go Launches Premium Satnav Software, juures ka mõned ekraanipildid.

iGO Primo keerab navimaailmas täiesti uue lehekülje. Kui iGO Amigo ainsaks puuduseks oli teekonnalogi puudumine, siis Primo parandab selle vea ja lisab veel tonnide kaupa kasulikke funktsioone. Enamus on teada tuntud juba iGO8 softi juurest. Tundub, et Primo tulekuga hakkabki iGO8 välja surema.

Teekonnalogi tõesti väga vajalik asi. Vaadates kõiki iGO Primo võimalusi, siis tekib tunne, et mitte ainult iGO8 ei hakka välja surema, vaid ka enamus teisi navitarkvarasid. Kui Primo tarkvaraga PNA-le lisada veel Navigoni 3D Real City võimalus ja hääljuhtimine, siis rohkemat nagu eriti tahta ei oskakski. Ametlikult hakatakse Primot ilmselt turustama küll vaid uute PNA seadmetega, seega kuidas asi muudel seadmetel ja erineva resolutsiooniga tööle hakkab, saab näha. Päris kahju igatahes, et Mio omal ajal koostöö NavNGO-ga katkestas, uus Mio Moov V780 seade koos iGO Primoga oleks väga priima asi.

Vaadates kõiki iGO Primo võimalusi, siis tekib tunne, et mitte ainult iGO8 ei hakka välja surema, vaid ka enamus teisi navitarkvarasid.

Jah, Nav N Go on head kodutööd teinud, kõigi konkurentide parimad programmide omadused ühte tarkvarasse lisanud ja tulemus on peatselt käega katsutav. Usun, et kui seda softi juba omal käel proovida saaks, siis tekib tõesti arvamus, et konkurendid on valgusaasta kaugusel. Tõeliselt innovatiivne firma, kui tehakse muutusi, siis need on tuntavad ja märgatavad, mitte nagu nt TomTom, kes toodab aga uusi seadmeid uue mudeli nime all, kuid sisu on põhimõtteliselt ikka sama. Mitte et nüüd TomTom'i kohta midagi halba ütleks, ei vastupidi, väga tugev ja hea firma, kuid aeg oleks hakata ka veidi innovatiivsemalt mõtlema, kui on soov turupositsiooni hoidmisel kaasa lüüa. Pealegi tekib küsimus, miks enam pooldada TomTom'i? Kaardid on ka Nav N Go'le TeleAtlase näol samas headuses saadaval ja enamgi veel, väga põhjalikke ja suure kattuvusega Ida-Euroopa kaarte toodab neile TopMap. Seega kokkuvõttes perfektne seade nii navisofti kui ka kaartide osas. Üle jääb vaid kannatlikult seda pidulikku hetke oodata, millal selle abil navigeerida juba saaks.

Pealegi tekib küsimus, miks enam pooldada TomTom'i?

Seni oli TomTomi suurim eelis iQ Routes tehnoloogia, iGO Primo tulekuga kaob tõesti see eelis ära. Ilmselt LIVE teenused on asjad, mis jäävad TomTomi puhul eeliseks, aga iseasi, palju neid tasulisi teenuseid ka kasutaks. Ise ilmselt küll mitte.

ega palju neid aparaate veel ei liigu mis nn optimum perfomance ära teevad

Kui iGO Primo tulekuga keeratakse uus leht tarkvara poole pealt, siis vaja ka riistvara poolel see teha. Kindlasti tasub see end ära ja kuidas veel. Eriti kui see soft saaks 800x480 resolutsiooni toe ja see käima lasta 7 tollisel seadmel. See oleks võimas. Endal nt pole hetkel ühtegi normaalset navi ja olen äraootaval seisukohal, mida soetada. Eriti just iGo Primo suhtes - kuidas seda softi levitama hakatakse, kas saabki olema ainult OEM tootjatele nagu väidetakse või mingil ajahetkel ka nt mälukaardi variandina saadaval hakkab olema jne.
