Reisil käies on alati meil kaasas fotoaparaad või isegi mitu, kuid vähestel neist on võimalus fotodele nn geosilte juurde lisada. Mis on geosildid? Maakeeli on need foto tegemise asukoha geograafilised koordinaadid, mis lisatakse hiljem fotole külge. Fotoaparaadid, milledele on see funktsioon juba sisse ehitatud, toimub see protsess automaatselt. Need fotoaparaadid, millel seda omadust ei ole, neile saab juurde lisada välise geotaggeri ja hiljem salvestatud info sünkroonitakse piltidega fotoaparaadis.

Samuti annab see meile suurepärase võimaluse hiljem näiteks naviseadme abil samasse kohta uuesti reisida. Pildil on geograafilised koordinaadid küljes ja paljud naviseadmed võimaldavad selliste fotode järgi navigeerimist, nagu nt iGO Primo jt.

Spetsiaalselt Nikon fotoaparaatidele on olemas ka eraldi versioon, mis ühendatakse juba kaamera külge.
